As any pet owner can tell you, the joys of summer are a mixed blessing because that's when ticks and fleas are most likely to infest your dog or cat and, through them, your home. A good preventive program is a must.

Fleas and ticks are external parasites that can cause extreme discomfort for your pet and your pocketbook — and it even gets worse when they invade your home. Aside from the fact that some tick-borne diseases can be very dangerous, a simple tick bite can cause itching for months for a human being.

You can save your pet a lot of itch and discomfort by using a Vet recommended product against ticks and fleas. These products are very effective with low risk to your dog or cat.

As Benjamin Franklin so wisely said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." He also might have said, "Once fleas and ticks are on your pet, they are in your home." Ben knew what he was talking about.
