Housing Recovery Workshops Throughout NJ on March 15

New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs (DCA) will host Housing Recovery Center Workshops at nine locations throughout the state on Saturday, March 15, from noon to 5 p.m., to provide assistance to applicants approved for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Elevation and Mitigation (RREM) Program grant awards as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

The RREM Program provides grants to homeowners to cover rebuilding costs up to $150,000 that are not funded by insurance, FEMA, U.S. Small Business Administration loans or other sources.

Those approved for RREM grant awards don't have to wait for the workshops, according to DCA Commissioner Richard E. Constable. They can get that assistance any day during normal business hours from their program-assigned Housing Advisor. The RREM Workshops are not for applicants on the program's waitlist, those deemed ineligible for the program or those appealing their ineligibility determination.

The Housing Recovery Center Workshop in Cape May County is at 3860 Bayshore Road in North Cape May and in Atlantic County it's at 500 Scarborough Drive, Suite 101 in Egg Harbor Township. In Ocean County, it's in Lakewood at 750 Vassar Avenue, Suite 1. Other locations are in Newark, Paramus, Jersey City, Edison, Freehold and Springfield.
