Lou Altobelli, owner of Rio Auto Body and seven related businesses in Cape May and Atlantic Counties, has been named Business Person of the Year by Middle Township's Chamber of Commerce. He will be honored at a dinner at Stone Harbor Country Club's Links Restaurant on Friday, April 4 at 6 pm.
Selected for his commitment to community service and business, Altobelli has actively supported community sports for both children and adults, health care and education for many years and is involved in the activities of more than 20 area organizations. He serves on the board of Atlantic Cape Community College, Volunteers in Medicine, Cape Assist, Kiwanis Club and Middle's Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the township's Economic Development Committee.
In addition to Rio Auto Body, he owns and operates Court House Towing, Inc.; Hi-Tech Auto & Truck Service Center, Rio Grande; Marmora Auto Body; Black House Pike Auto Body, Inc., Egg Harbor Township; Marmora Auto & Truck Service Center, Inc., and Mossbrooks Tire & Auto Center in Cape May Court House. He plans to open a new business, Vineland Auto Center, in August.
Altobelli's enterprise was recognized by Middle's Chamber of Commerce in 2008 as the Business of the Year. A native of Middlesex County, NJ, he has been a resident of Middle Township for the past 20 years.
