Middle Township School Board Elects New President

Middle Township School Board Elects New President

The boardroom of the Middle Township School Administration building was packed January 7 as three School Board members were sworn in for new three-year terms and a new president, Dennis M.Roberts, was elected by board members. George L.DeLollis was elected vice-president.

Among those sworn in were Calvin Back, the board's out-going president, who has served on the board for 51 years; Burgess Hamer, a board member for nine years, and George DeLollis, a board member for 10 years. The swearing-in ceremony, conducted by the board's solicitor, William Donio, had a family flavor as George DeLollis' son, Louis, held the Bible on which his father took the oath. Burgess Hamer's mother, Mrs. Bernice Brunson, proudly held the Bible for her son's swearing-in.

During the short meeting that followed the swearing-in ceremony and election, Dennis Roberts lauded former president Calvin Back and thanked him for his 51 years of service on the board.
