The Middle Township Public Works Department announced that it is now doing "single stream recycling," which means that paper, cardboard, plastic, steel (tin), aluminum and glass can all be deposited in one recycling container for pick up by the department's trucks. Previously, paper products were separated from glass and metal products in the familiar white (paper) and blue (glass, metal, etc.) containers provided by the department.
For those who are not familiar with the Public Works Department's pick-up schedule, large items (household appliances, furniture, etc.) are picked up the last week of the month depending on the day you are scheduled. For example, if Monday is your normal trash pick-up day, you can put out a large item (only one per week) for pick up on the last Monday of the month. Television sets can be picked up on any trash collection day.
