Police Collecting Unwanted and Unused Prescription Drugs

Police Collecting Unwanted and Unused Prescription Drugs

The police departments in several Cape May County municipalities are working with the Drug Enforcement Agency to collect unwanted, unused or expired medications from the community on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The prescription drugs can be dropped off, no questions asked, at the Middle Township Police Department on Mechanic Street or at the Avalon Police Station at 3000 Dune Drive from 10 am to 2 pm.

Lower Township Police will be conducting a "Drive-Thru Drug Drop-Off" the same day and time in the parking lot of Breakwater Plaza, Bayshore and Breakwater Roads, Villas.

The purpose of the drive is to get potentially harmful drugs out of the medicine cabinet, off the streets and out of the hands of children.

Any questions can be directed to the Police Departments of the participating municipalities.
