The Middle Township Economic Development Council is inviting the township's business owners to a seminar on the proposed Property Tax Reward Card program to be held Wednesday, March 26 at the Samuel DeVico Senior Center, 23 Romney Place in Cape May Court House. There will be two sessions, 12 noon-1 pm and 5-6 pm, conducted by the program's owner, Carmine DeFalco.
According to the township, the purpose of the seminar is to determine the business community's interest in the program, which has not yet been adopted by the Middle Township Committee.
The program would provide property tax rebates to residents who shop at participating businesses in the township. Every resident would be eligible to receive a free Property Tax Reward Card for use at participating businesses, where purchases would result in a pre-determined rebate credited to the resident's property tax bill. Various discounts, determined by participating businesses, would be provided to customers who use the Tax Reward Card.
According to Carol Struett, Chairwoman of the Development Council, the seminar will give local business owners the opportunity to ask questions and learn how the program works. Business owners interested in attending either session should email the Economic Council's Sandie Linz at SLinz@middletownship.com. Those who cannot attend can request information sent to them.
