Cape May County seniors enjoyed a variety of choices at the "Souper Bowl" sponsored by the Middle Township Senior Center January 30, when canned goods and non-perishable food were collected for distribution to area charities.
Among the soups were lobster bisque, split pea, minestrone, "loaded" potato, chicken noodle and Manhattan clam chowder. A variety of breads and crackers accompanied the soups and most of those attending tried several of the selections, all of which were delicious. The lobster bisque and split pea were donated by Chef Sid Gary of Atkinson's Tavern and the "loaded" potato by the chef at the Genesis Cake Center. Don't be surprised if this becomes an annual event that coincides with the athletic contest that some of you may have watched on Sunday.
Once again, we tip our hat to the director of the center, Marilyn Miller, and her assistants Arline Angelone, Tom Fairman and Denise Bose for the wonderful job they do in providing area senior citizens with a home away from home and great soup!
