Sometimes I wonder if I'm on the same planet as President Donald J. Trump.
In an Associated Press article written by Darlene Superville, Trump was quoted as saying " Congratulations on behalf of Melania and myself and the entire nation. Tremendous," as he presented the Purple Heart medal to Army Sgt. 1st Class Alvaro Barrientos at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. The presentation to Sgt. Barrientos, who was wounded in action in Afghanistan and lost the lower part of his right leg, was Trump's first visit to the Walter Reed Medical Center since his election as president
Maybe, as a veteran, I am overly sensitive. We all know that President Trump has a limited vocabulary, but you would think that the president of the United States could have more graciously expressed the thanks of the nation for the sacrifice made by Sgt. Barrientos.
And I'm still trying to figure out what was "tremendous."
